Job Summary
Primary responsibilities to include operational oversight for the library at the Urban campus, collaborative work with library and campus partners to infuse quality instruction and library engagement throughout the student experience, and building and maintaining relationships with college-wide groups by representing the Libraries’ mission and goals.

Essential Functions
Provides oversight for day-to-day activities of the library at Urban campus and support for Library Specialist, Library Assistants, and Adjunct Librarians. Maintain current library programs as well as create and implement new library initiatives. Coordinate proven and innovative ideas, and best practices, to establish cohesive marketing and communications strategies supporting successful engagement and IL programs. Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty and staff in person, by phone, and via e-mail/chat. Develop and deliver workshop/instruction opportunities for students, faculty and staff in line with the mission of the Libraries. Compile and maintain statistical reports of selected library activities, the development of library policies and procedures. Participate in both campus and district library initiatives/activities.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited graduate program.
Recent knowledge & experience with: integrated library systems, various e-resources, various communication technologies, common software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite.
Recent library work in a public services department/division.
Demonstrated communication and human relations skills and the ability to work with administrators, faculty, support staff and students in a community college environment.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values and/or coming from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.


Desired Qualifications
Recent instruction and/or student engagement experience in a college/university library.
Ability to work as a team member, as well as, taking leadership responsibility.
Experience working effectively with multiple priorities and projects.
Experience with tutorial related software, LibGuides, and learning management systems.
Experience with online course creation and delivery
