General Responsibilities:
The Laraway School Special Education Case Manager will case manage all aspects of a student’s special education services, adhering to all state and federal regulations. This position supports the student, team, teachers and family in carrying out education goals.
- Facilitate and coordinate with Legal Education Agency to assure special education requirements are upheld. Participate in I.E.P. development, evaluations and related special education and/or treatment meetings.
- Work closely with clinical and behavioral staff in developing I.E.P. goals, treatment goals and behavioral plans
- Introduce and communicate to all staff, accommodations and goals from Individualized Educational Plans and Comprehensive Evaluations for the students on assigned caseload.
- Model, train and support classroom staff in the implementation of Individualized Educational Plans. Meet regularly with classroom staff to assure students are up to date with their educational goals.
- Organize and collect student specific data on a weekly and monthly basis. Lead/facilitate educational meetings.
- Initiate and collaborate with other agencies to meet education and transition needs of students.
- Design and implement individualized learning plans based on student needs, interests and assessments; including, but not limited to managing job sites, individualized coursework, work based learning and service learning projects.
- Provide support for or perform assessments and other evaluations pertinent to student’s needs.
The Special Education Case Manager will be a licensed Special Educator or nearing license completion.
