The Licensing Specialist position is responsible for assessing and licensing foster home applicants and maintaining those homes for the placement of foster children. Trains, prepares and supports foster parents. Responsible for coordinating with foster care program staff during the placement of foster children.

- Orientates potential Foster Care parents.
- Certifies and maintains Foster homes in accordance to policies and procedures of the Division.
- Trains and provides training to Foster Care parents.
- Coordinates services with staff and families; including unlicensed relatives.
- Participates in on-call placements and emergency services.
- Drives and transports as needed.
- Knowledge of computer systems and relevant software.
- Ability to make appropriate assessments and recommendations.
- Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and collect and evaluate client data.
- Ability to work with community organizations and use community resources to meet client needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with clients and the public in a courteous and effective manner.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of related experience in human services is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
