GENERAL DESCRIPTION: *
Responsible for the design, development, testing, support and maintenance of inpatient census and clinical data integration and interoperability projects supporting both clinical and business processes. Work integration and interoperability analyst will work closely with providers, vendors, and system administrators to understand and provide feedback on complex functional requirements, identify gaps and technical limitations, propose solutions and workarounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes business requirements and provides recommendations. Serves as an expert and guide to ensure best practices in interoperability structure aligned to health insurance industry standards and regulatory agency requirements such as CMS
  • Evaluate providers’ electronic health record (EHR) and identify opportunities to improve, develop and monitoring of quality metrics and meaningful use; to follow the requirements of regulatory agencies for example CMS
  • Develops process diagrams, evaluates, and communicates improvement needs to the project development group. Maintains monitoring and control of project progress. Document the workflow required to meet deliverables and maintain integration requirements documentation
  • Interact with users to understand new business requirements and enhancement requests
  • Understand HL7 classification systems and languages to translate between systems
  • Provide work estimates to managers and project managers as requested based on requirements gathered
  • Assists in the collection and consolidation of required information and data gathering using a variety of basic techniques
  • Translate business requirements and uses cases to develop and deliver functional/technical specifications, requirements documents, detailed use cases for new product features or functionality
  • Work with Development, QA, Vendor professional services, IT and technical operations during design and implementation to shape the technical feature set
  • Develop business requirements for clinical data repository according with the HL7, FHIR, CDA / USCDI, among other requirements and standards
  • Analyzes and ensures performance requirements are met and reviews test plans with the team
  • Provides post-implementation and on-going interoperability support
  • Serve in a liaison role between application technology vendors, internal groups, and users
  • Actively participate in meetings and supports others on functional area related topics as required
  • Ensure compliance with defined standards; create new demonstrations of new functionality to users to seek input on future directions
  • Participate in user focus groups and requirements workshops, vendor training and demonstrations
  • Must comply fully and consistently with all company policies and procedures, with local and federal laws as well as with the regulations applicable to our Industry, to maintain appropriate business and employment practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, or Health Care related field.

Experience: * Minimum five (5) years’ work experience in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or
Interoperability experience is required. Ability to read standard and vendor specs and perform gap analysis between inbound and outbound transactions with minimal assistance. Knowledge to translate clinical language to technical terminology for health information exchange is required.

Certifications / Licenses: CAHIMS, CPHIMS or CPDHTS (preferably)
Other: Technology experience: IHE, CCD/CDA, XDS, HL7, 835, 837, Direct Messaging is required. Information technology background with HL7 knowledge, preferrable.

Spanish – Advance (comprehensive, writing and verbal)
English – Advance (comprehensive, writing and verbal)
