Function/Scope:
Manna House Life Skills Coach is responsible for providing services to residents who may be chronically homeless, impacted by severe mental illness, or have a history of chemical dependence. Services are geared towards increasing resident’s ability to obtain and remain in permanent housing, increase skills and/or income, and achieve greater self-determination. Services are determined through the assessment of each resident’s needs and the development of an individualized service plan jointly. It is to be developmentally and culturally appropriate and stress the participant’s strengths.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to established regulations, policies and procedures, and the best practice standards for Manna.
- Adhere to established policies and mission statement of Volunteers of America.
- Attend training and seminars to enhance skills and job performance
- Document interactions with residents or important information
- Assist residents when needed with goals
- Participate in program development
- Provide instruction and support in various areas of life skills
- Complete assigned tasks
- Obtain and document information from residents
- Demonstrate knowledge and professionalism while answering phones, emails, taking messages, speaking with residents/guests
- Assist residents with intake and exit process
