SwimRVA is looking for a Lifeguard Coordinator who has the passion for safety and willingness to help coordinate a team of Lifeguards. The coordinator loves helping people be successful. A coordinator works to ensure the success of staff, patrons, events, and programs. The SwimRVA coordinator is forward thinking as it relates to maximizing the number of people interacting with water for events, joy, health, and fun at any of our aquatic centers in the Richmond Region.

Qualified candidates will have excellent communication and customer service skills along with the ability to build strong relationships with participants and staff and demonstrate the ability to be punctual and dependable.

The SwimRVA Lifeguard Coordinators job duties:

  • Ensure safety of all patrons, guests, and employees throughout the facility at all times and participate in professional rescuer rotations.
  • Maintain awareness of facility safety issues and remedy (or delegate remedy) in the priority order.
  • Steward group and program usage of pool space.
  • Supervise a team of lifeguards to ensure that all daily and weekly duties are performed.
  • Assist in conducting on-board and in-service training of employees.
  • Daily operational checks and monitoring of systems (pool equipment, lighting, plumbing, etc..)
  • Lead setup, breakdown, and clean for world class events

Qualifications:

  • Passion for safety
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED and Emergency Oxygen
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) or SwimRVA Lifeguard Instructor-Helper (LGI-H) preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred
  • Attention to detail

Salary/Benefits:
