JOB SUMMARY

This position of line cook consists of managing the daily preparation of food items for a station or a specific area in a kitchen and cooking and plating all food orders in an efficient, healthful, and attractive manner.

JOB TASKS

• Present food using proper presentation techniques
• Coordinate completion of menu items with server
• Prepare work checklist and organize work stations for each shift
• Check and maintain coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity, and quality of food.
• Take proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils, and other equipment.
• Work in a team-oriented environment and under demanding conditions
• Prepare and cook meat, poultry, fish, and seafood
• Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good communication skills
• Previous experience with grilling, salads, food preparation, sautéing, and deep-frying
• Able to accurately read and communicate orders
• Well organized, shows a sense of urgency, and able to track multiple orders and multitask
• Works well under pressure
• Team player that works productively with others
• Understanding of safe food practices
• Able to work nights and weekends
• At least one-year experience preferred
• High school or GED or equivalent

Physical demands

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
• Ability to lift and carry 0-25 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the shift
• Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks

Hours/Compensation

• This can be a full or part-time, seasonal job (Mid May-October)
• Weekend and holiday hours are required
• The schedule is subject to change based on Gordon Lodge events and hours of operations
• Hourly compensation based on experience, with bonus opportunities.
• Employee housing is available!
