services needed for a vibrant rural economy. The Livestock Caretaker contributes to our
mission by providing care for pigs, producing a quality meat product right in our rural
community that feeds the world.
As a Livestock Caretaker, a typical day may include the following:
- Shipping and receiving animals
- Treating animals
- Heat checking and breeding sows and gilts
- Assisting with the birthing process of sows and gilts
- Caring for piglets and ensuring they are off to a good start
- Moving animals with a sorting board
- Cleaning facilities including power-washing
- Keeping detailed, accurate records that comply with Holden Farms
- Ensuring all animals are receiving proper feed, water, and ventilation
- Understand and follow WFR’s biosecurity protocol, must shower in and out of the

- You are available to work every weekend, both Saturday and Sunday
- You put animal welfare at the forefront, making sure all animals are well taken care of
- You like to be physically active and can be on feet for the majority of your workday
- You are punctual and dependable
