Loading Dock Attendant Job at Related
The Loading Dock Attendant is responsible, under the direction of the Resident Manager, for the supervision of loading dock operations. This is focused on, but not limited to, management of deliveries and loading dock contract oversight. The Loading Dock Attendant shall implement policies, procedures and programs that will assure a well-managed, well-maintained loading dock. These duties are performed with ethics, moral integrity and honesty, in compliance with all company policies and procedures and all applicable city agency statutes.
The Loading Dock Attendant is responsible for the following:
Manage day-to-day operations related to the loading dock- Oversee service and maintenance vendors whose services involve or impact the loading dock
- Cleaning and maintaining/ organizing of the loading dock and ensuring cleanliness of the loading dock.
- Act as primary liaison with Resident Manager on matters concerning loading dock operations
- Enforce building rules for the scheduling and use of space
Loading Dock Operations
- Oversee all operations in the loading dock
- Direct the daily scheduling, acceptance, verification, delivery and departure of delivery vehicles
- Address and resolve delivery issues or concerns as necessary
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed at all times through daily observation, including the safe operation of equipment on the dock and loading and unloading of vehicles
- Coordinate corrective maintenance and repairs that relate to managed service contracts, as well as other projects as assigned
- Conduct and document daily physical inspections of the loading dock and proactively identify areas requiring repair or maintenance
Reporting & Administrative
- Keep Senior General Manager and Resident Manager apprised of new or ongoing projects that have potential impact in their primary area of responsibility
- Manage critical issues and participate as a key team leader in response to emergency situations related to the loading dock in order to implement necessary corrective measures.
- Submit written monthly reports and provide verbal and other presentations as directed by Resident Manager
- Submit monthly and quarterly waste and loading dock usage reports
- Maintain written record of all requests
- Remain knowledgeable of changing technologies and make recommendations that increase system performance and realize monetary and other efficiencies for Unit Owners
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Effective, clear, and affirmative oral and written communication skills
- Proofreading and editing ability
- Ability to create and maintain record-keeping documents

- Minimum of 2-4 years of logistical coordination and/or warehouse experience
- Has a strong knowledge and comprehensive understanding of building operations, and logistics
- Must have experience working with service-oriented teams
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability to self-manage and self-motivate
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to relate and communicate to all levels
- Outlook and Word experience, Excel skill level should be intermediate or advanced
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- While performing these duties an employee can be faced with additional conditions outside those of a general office environment. These could include wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; vibration, fumes or airborne particles, electrical hazards and moderately noisy locations.
