Position Summary

The Loan Processor Assistant provides general administrative support to the lending team, primarily the Loan Processor. Ordering documents needed, following up on the status of these items. Communicating status to the Loan Processor through conversation log or other predetermined form of communication.

The following duties are intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the department.
  • Review loan requests to understand loan terms and program types.
  • Use various software programs and generate appropriate loan credit documentation within Encompass for credit reports, appraisals, flood certifications, verifications of employment.
  • Order title work, insurance, verifications of employment and other items required for loan decisioning.
  • Follow up on outstanding items such as, but not limited to
    • Communicate the status of items to the Loan Processor.
      • Employers for status on verification of employment
      • Flood Cert when status reflects sent for research
      • Preliminary title report status
  • Comply with company, FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and industry standard rules and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • One year of general administrative experience in an office environment.
  • Related military education/experience may be used as a substitute for education or work experience.

Knowledge & Communication Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to comprehend, analyze, and effectively communicate business memorandums, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Analytical & Decision Making Skills

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Detail oriented and have good attention to detail with the ability to proof read documents for accuracy and processing transactions accurately.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently without supervision, and be able to prioritize multiple projects to meet firm deadlines.

Computer/Software/Other Equipment Skills

  • Able to comprehend and respond to new software and program upgrades.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as PC, printer, fax/copier, and telephone.


Working Conditions

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment.
