How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
As the "face of Airgas," the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

As a Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be a part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility while offering our employees a work/life balance. In addition, Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.

Position Title:
Based out of our McAllen, TX location
Monday - Friday, local deliveries. Home Daily!
Straight Truck – Class A or B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement required.
In particular, you will:
Drive truck over established route to deliver and sell products while performing the following duties:
  • Drive truck to deliver gasses and hard goods to customer's places of business.
  • Perform any non-route delivery(s) necessary to provide customers with product.
  • Write customer orders and instructions.
  • Record sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery records.
  • Listen to and resolves service complaints.
  • Issue sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Collect or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise. Loads truck.
  • Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies utilizing Airgas forms and ensure all safety items are in good working order.
  • Comply with all company policies and meets DOT requirements.
  • Assist inside the retail branch, servicing customers at dock, front counter and over the phone.
  • Attend safety meetings as scheduled before, during or after daily shifts.
  • Assist with other driver’s scheduled duties as needed.

Are you a MATCH?
  • Must have one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience or have graduated from an accredited driving school.
  • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
  • At least one full year of experience driving a Class A or B vehicle under DOT requirements.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Current Medical Examiner’s Card.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.
