Learning & Organizational Development Media & Communications Specialist

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Human Resources office is seeking a Learning & Organizational Development (LOD) Specialist. Position Summary

This position provides digital and print program support for the Learning & Organizational Development (LOD) team. The LOD Specialist will work with closely with LOD and collaboratively with the Finance and Administration Communication Specialist to promote and analyze LOD activities in response to campus developmental needs by providing timely solutions.

Accountabilities

• Planning through evaluation of digital and print campaigns that support LOD and HR learning initiatives.
• Create and oversee content for the LOD newsletter, podcasts, and YouTube.
• Develop a social media strategy.
• Maintain web and social media presence to engage the campus community and market existing and new programs.
• Creates photos/videos for events, websites, or social media and produce content for intended audience.
• Creates social media schedule, posts content, monitors, responds to posts, and assists with generating ideas for posting on social media sites.
• Stay aware of innovations in the digital media environment.
• Conduct research and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop a wide variety of resources.
• Design instructional material Continuously evaluates relevancy and accuracy of training content.
• Develop and distribute pre- and post-evaluations for LOD and HR learning activities and programs.
• Create reports for the LOD team to determine effectiveness of programming.
• Participate in university community committees, commissions, or boards to support a healthy learning environment.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years experience in communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in communications or related focus.
• Experience in Instructional Design (Articulate 360, Canva, etc.)

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Consultation and relationship skills that result in meeting the needs of the client.
• Proven digital editing skills in photography and video.
• Professional experience working in Social Media.
• Ability to manage and work with simultaneous projects.
• Effective relationship skills.
