What You Will Contribute:

Badger Meter is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for domestic shipping and logistics support. Responsibilities include freight audit and payment, freight claims and hazardous materials shipping compliance. They will work to assist the Logistics Manager with analysis of freight pricing agreements and carrier relationships including monitoring carrier performance and corrective action. We are willing to train the right individual!
  • Assist internal and external customers with domestic logistics related questions. Investigate shipment issues and recommend corrective action
  • Work with freight audit and payment company to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices. Audit payment and GL coding of freight invoices.
  • Work with carriers to resolve disputed billings and file loss/damage claims when required.
  • Write work procedures and develop process improvements.
  • Hazardous materials shipping; maintain certification for all shipment modes. Work with Engineering and Production to identify products containing lithium batteries. Maintain hazmat document files. Communicate regulatory updates to extended Hazmat Shipping group.
  • Mentor and provide backup for Logistics Coordinator
  • Additional projects, tasks, and/or assignments as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of work experience preferred
  • Dangerous goods shipping certification, 49CFR, IATA, IMDG
  • Experience with freight audit and payment processes (required).
  • ERP experience with shipping and inventory transactions
  • Experience on freight carrier websites
