Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the communication goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP.

Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.

Employs various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.

Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.

Adheres to procedural requirements, including due process timelines.

Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.

Employs and implements, during speech sessions, a structure, and consistency to encourage student responsibility, cooperation and mutual respect consistent with district policies and procedures.

Collaborates and consults with educational professionals and community service providers (i.e., special education teachers, social services, public health, medical providers, etc.) regarding the needs of students. Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans, and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff and the community concerning areas of instructional expertise/knowledge.

Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district, and departmental meetings. Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.

Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature or as assigned.

Understanding of basic office equipment and software used by the district in maintaining records and files (i.e. word processing software, student record databases).

Knowledge of instructional technologies and software, equipment, tools, and devices used presenting instruction, documenting assessments, student progress or other classroom administrative requirements of the district.

The ability to write lesson plans and present information to students to meet their individual goals and objectives.

The ability to assess student learning in relation to their unique needs.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton has a LONG TERM Speech Language Pathologist on or around March 29 until May 31.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Building Principal, the licensed Speech Language Pathologist develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objective and functions as the IEP Manager/related service provider to assigned students.

The Educational Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) identifies, evaluates, designs, and implements appropriate plans for students, writes IEPs, and is a member of the Student Assistance Team. T he Educational SLP also meets with parents, interprets student progress, informs parents about their child’s progress, and is available for in-services. The candidate will possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. The candidate will possess knowledge of specialized instruction and Due Process in the area of speech and language.
Required Education:
Valid MN Speech Language Pathologist Teaching license required. Candidates will preferably have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association OR have the ability to obtain their CCC's through completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
