LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Job at Laurels Senior Living, Inc.
Position Summary: Provides and ensures quality resident care and the promotion of resident wellness. Provides direct nursing services to the residents ensuring optimal health and safety. Supervise the personal care aides who deliver services. Supports and enforces all policies, programs, and philosophies of The Laurels.
Hiring 1st shift: 6:30am-3pm
Routine Functions of the Position:
*Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents, co-workers, families, and facility guests.
*Participate in welcome and orientation of all new residents.
*Continually monitor resident needs to be sure they are being met and the resident support plans are current.
*Communicate information from the support plan to the personal care staff and ensure that the staff provides services specified in the plan.
*Respond with appropriate actions and urgency to the resident illness, injury, or complaint. Notifies proper providers and/or supervisors of events.
*Assure that medical orders are implemented.
*Order medications and oversee that medication schedule is maintained for residents requiring medication assistance. Follow policies and procedures for medication system integrity.
*Facilitate scheduling and the transportation to physician office visits for residents.
*Maintain effective communication with residents and their families, physicians, pharmacist, and proper outside agencies to ensure optimal resident care.
*Protects resident rights and confidential information according to state and federal laws.
*Perform treatments consistent with scope of practice. Consults with Director of Wellness to determine whether specific treatments require the use of external resources. Teaches staff and oversees resident treatments as appropriate.
*Documents and maintains all pertinent resident related information according to company policies and DHS requirements.
*Observe for any signs of resident abuse or neglect. Take immediate action to prevent harm and report incidents.
*Respond to resident emergencies and react appropriately.
*Follow the assessment and support plan in providing services to residents.
*Assist in the development and updating of each resident’s support plan.
*Assist residents with ADL’s & IADL’s.
*Assist residents with medication administration or reminders if they are capable of self-administration.
*Assist resident with oxygen, ostomies, and other medical problem as outlined in the support plan.
*Encourage socialization among residents.
*Monitor health, safety, and well-being of the residents., etc.
*Document information pertaining to changes in the resident’s functional status, personal needs, appointments.
*Assist in keeping the environment safe for residents.
*Provide one-on-one support/visitation to assigned residents on a weekly basis or as requested by supervisor or as specified in the support plan or communication log.
*Respond to resident emergencies; provide first aide and arrange for appropriate medical attention/follow up.
*Implement action plan to decrease risk of further incident occurrence.
*Attend and participate in all staff meetings and continuing education.
*Expand personal development in nursing related to older adults.
*Compassionate and empathetic in personal interactions.
*Effective communication skills both oral & written.
*Highly organized.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
