LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse Educator

Full Time | Day Shift - 7-3:30 pm | Monday - Friday

** Starting pay rate up to $27.54/hour **

What will I do as the LPN Educator for The Wesley Community?

  • Act as a Classroom and Clinical Instructor for the NYS NAT Program as needed.
  • Assist with the development of New Hire, Annual and ongoing Competencies for all nursing positions.
  • Act as an Instructor for new hire competencies as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Education to implement New York State Department of Health required in-services.
  • Assist the Director of Education to meet the 12-hour state mandated in-services requirements for all HHA and CNA's.
  • Assist to evaluate and update programs on a regular basis.
  • Serve as an administrator within HealthStream for online education.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods and principles of adult education to ensure staff understand the required information.
  • Attend, participate in and evaluate workshops, seminars, etc. to keep abreast of current changes and teaching techniques in the health care field.
  • Attend outside training programs and activities which add to your professional growth.
  • Work together with the Education Director in the preparation, scheduling, and selection of instructional equipment, training aids, and materials.

LPN Educator Requirements:

  • LPN for a minimum of 2 years in long term care.
  • Previous experience in education or in teaching adult students preferred
  • Must have experience with Microsoft.
  • Has the personal interest, passion, and drive to instruct and teach adults.
  • Maintains an atmosphere of compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and spirit throughout the department.
  • Is interested in maintaining an updated knowledge in current nursing procedures,
  • Has good communication skills.
