Summary: Repairs and maintains Bulk Delivery System mechanical and electrical equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operates Bulk Delivery machinery in order to test their performance.
- Troubleshoots and repairs Bulk Delivery System electrical equipment.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Adjusts functional parts of machinery and control equipment to make them work efficiently.
- Dismantles machinery to gain access to and remove/repair defective parts.
- Inspects used and new parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and to detect imperfections.
- Efficiently tracks daily work and time spent on each job and correctly summarizes the time spent on each work category at day’s end.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and equipment.
- Evaluates and recommends improvements in methods, procedures, and processes.
- Performs PM’s and lubrication for all Buhler System machinery.
- Performs all work utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices and following all plant safety rules.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); five years maintenance experience required
- Food or chemical manufacturing experience desired
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge and/or experience in the following fields: Safety – Industrial and Personal, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Basic PLC programming, Pipe fitting/Plumbing
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral or written instructions; Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Computer Skills – Utilize CMMS to enter PM and Work Order data. Interact with Bulk Delivery SCADA system to monitor and troubleshoot system issues. Must be willing to attend PLC & related maintenance/equipment training classes to expand skills
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Forklift Operator Certification or be able to obtain one within one year of being hired.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
