Maintenance Plant Support Technician

OCI Iowa Fertilizer Company (IFCo) is looking for a Plant Support Technician to join our Maintenance team in Wever, Iowa. This individual will be responsible for the upkeep of the property in order to enhance and maintain the appearance. This individual performs a wide variety of both routine and unexpected tasks to support the operations of the plant. A few of the routine duties include mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal. The primary schedule is days Monday – Friday, with occasional overtime hours (turnaround, shutdowns, nights, weekends, on-call).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

At a minimum, tasks will include, but not limited to:

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Keep all related equipment and tools clean, maintained and stored properly.
• Conserve maintenance resources by efficiently using equipment and supplies.
• Safely operate and maintain cultivators, edgers, and power mowers to perform lawn mowing, trimming, and, weeding.
• Keep grounds free of litter.
• Maintain roadways, parking areas and sidewalks.
• Safely operate and maintain power tools, portable pumps, forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts, trucks, skid steers, snowplows, and front-end loaders.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as greasing, fueling, oil & filter changes, belt inspections, tire inflations and cleaning/washing of equipment.
• Inspect/maintain building lights, exit signs & emergency lights.
• Occasionally overtime hours (turnaround, shutdowns, nights, weekends, on-call).
• Follow company safety and health guideline and other company policies.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license. Always ensure HR has a copy of a current, valid license on file.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience and Skills

• 2+ years’ experience operating snow removal equipment.
• 2+ years’ experience operating/handling power and hand tools is preferred.
• Must be team oriented.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite a plus.
• Carpentry and building maintenance skills a plus.
• Knowledge of the operation of mowers, trimmers, power tools and heavy equipment.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Valid CDL License or ability to obtain a CDL.
• Demonstrated ability to be detailed and thorough in completing work tasks

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
• Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
• Wearing a respirator when/where required to perform inspections/job duties.
• Confined space entry may be required.
