Position Overview:
The role of the Maintenance Technician is to support all maintenance functions at our Stanley, NC manufacturing plant. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor, and will ensure the facility and equipment is kept in good working order. The Maintenance Technician is an integral part of the organization as they ensure the maintenance of the facility and equipment, maintain electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic systems, pumps, PLC’s and related systems. This person may be required to work overtime and weekends at times with short notice.
Position Responsibilities: include, but not limited to the following:
- Maintains, inspects, operates, and repairs of boiler and compressed air systems.
- Performs metal/guarding fabrication and pipe fitting as required.
- Changeover/set-up, maintenance, and repair of liquid packaging equipment such as fillers, label applicators, printers and ultrasonic welders.
- Maintains and repairs mixing equipment including but not limited to mixing vessels, transfer pumps, batching and associated piping systems.
- Responsible for the completion of all repairs and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance of existing facility.
- Troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of electrical A/C and D/C Circuits, control Circuits and PLC’s.
- Calibration of equipment such as temperature sensors, mass flow meters and batching control systems.
- Must be safety focused and ability to lead departmental safety platform.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, pumps, HVAC systems, pipefitting, carpentry, blueprints reading, machine and equipment maintenance, packaging equipment changeover/ set up and other related equipment and systems is essential.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools, including welding, cutting and fabrication equipment as needed.
- Time management skills are a must due to constantly changing priorities and very fast paced production work environment.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision and complete job tasks with time allotted.
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of A/C and D/C Circuits.
- Experience with control circuits and PLC’s a plus.
- Must be skilled in troubleshooting/repairing equipment related issues.
- Experience with hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, lock out tag out and aerial platform operation
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is a minimum
- Current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license required.
- Current Forklift Operators License or ability to obtain immediately upon hire required.
- Certification or Licenses in any areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC etc. a plus.
Physical Requirements: The requirements listed below are examples of the conditions, skills, and/or ability needed to perform the necessary task of this position and are not all inclusive.
- Outside conditions on occasion and non-air-conditioned indoor environment, working in confined spaces and high areas.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 30 lbs., up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, reach, stand, and walk on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to see small items, grasp and hold small items.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, hear, concentrate, and comprehend complex data.
