Function

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all Plant equipment.

Organizational Relationships
Reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and coordinates with: Managers, Supervisors, Machine Operators, Contractors and Subcontractors.

Responsibilities

1. Perform preventive maintenance for the company’s production and packaging equipment, product lines, CIP (Clean In-Place) system and other related equipment including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, food piping, welding and machining/fabricating.

2. Diagnose malfunctions and provide repair and/or modifications for the company’s production and packaging equipment, product lines, CIP (Clean In-Place) system and other related equipment including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, food piping, welding, and machining\fabricating.

3. Consult with equipment manufacturers and other subcontractors on an as needed basis for assistance with preventive maintenance, repair and modification, and other related issues including but not limited to the production equipment.

4. Assist management with the design and set up of new equipment or work areas in terms of quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

5. Train new hires in all aspects of the Maintenance Technician position.

6. Maintain and store all tools and other maintenance equipment so it is easily accessible and in good working order when needed for a job.

7. Maintain all preventive maintenance, repair, and other related records.

8. Perform all duties in accordance to all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines including but not limited to lockout/tagout, machine guarding, eye and hearing protection, and confined space entry.

9. Assist team in improving quality and efficiency through continual development of maintenance operations that minimizes production downtime.

10. Assist Maintenance Manager in building a strong team environment.

11. Perform other responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the company goal of providing our customers with cost-effective, super-premium products and outstanding customer service.

Required Skills

Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures.

Machining\Fabricating.

Plumbing.

Electrical.

Welding.

Safe operation of power tools, maintenance equipment, and production machinery.

Ability to legibly and accurately complete records.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to interact professionally with production crews.

Willingness to be on-call for non-designated work hours.

Reading, writing, and math competency.

Eight to twelve weeks of on-the-job training to obtain job’s base skill level.
Physical Requirements

- Frequent operation of hand tools, multiple manual dexterity tasks (gripping, pinching, twisting)

- Frequent bending, squatting and kneeling

- Climbing all types of ladders (step, extension and processor)

- Heavy lifting

- Exposure to strong chemicals (including strong acids)

- Exposure to confined spaces

- Exposure to noisy environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
