• Performs work in accordance to the Morgantown site Safety Policies and Standard Procedures to ensure personal safety as well as that of co-workers.
• Must become knowledgeable in the various plant production processes, steam and condensate systems, hot oil systems, fire protection system, air/nitrogen compressor systems, environmental and waste water systems.
• Proficient in the use of equipment such as fork trucks, backhoes, compressors, pumps, generators, high pressure washers, hydraulic manlifts, etc.
• Proficient in trouble-shooting, repair and installation of mechanical and rotating equipment that includes pumps, gear drives, compressors and other mechanical equipment.
• Proficient in the areas of pipefitting, welding and fabrication, skills for installation of stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, glass, PVC, polythread and polypropylenic piping systems.
• Must be able to safely operate lathes, mill grinders, oxygen and acetylene cutting torches, saws, drills, welder, and other skills associated with mechanical trades.
• Works closely with production personnel assigned to that task to prioritize and accomplish maintenance tasks during off hours. Communication with the production department is a must.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills or Abilities: In order of importance, list the specific skills or abilities which a qualified individual should possess (e.g., computer literacy, subject knowledge, etc.).

• Experience in the areas of pipefitting, welding and fabrication, skills for installation of stainless steel, carbon steel, PVC, polythread and polypropylenic piping systems. Trouble-shooting, repair and installation of mechanical and rotating equipment that includes pumps, gear drives, vacuum pumps and other mechanical equipment.

• Physical ability to safely climb ladders, steps and scaffolding.
• Safely drive fork trucks, backhoe, manlifts and trucks.
• Physical ability to lift various objects and equipment (i.e. pumps, tool boxes, ladders).
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.
• Must pass a mechanical aptitude exam.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary.
