What You’ll Do:
Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical aspects of material handling equipment on site, including conveyor systems, sortation systems, robotics, and ASRS systems.
- Work with Facilities Manager to solve problems, validate quality of work of outside contractors, and work with leaders in operations to optimize material handling equipment.
- Use of preventive and predictive maintenance processes to rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service to support the success of the fulfillment center.
- Repairs to carts, stands, lifts, and material handling equipment used in the daily sorting and transporting of products within the facility. This does not include major repairs or preventative maintenance to powered forklifts but does include the preventive maintenance and watering of all forklift batteries.
- Demonstrate mechanical proficiency for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and AC/DC electrical motors and drives.
- Adjust, reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, MDR’s, photo eyes, sensors, E-stops, transfers, etc.)
- Maintain and troubleshoot all motors, relays, solenoids, VFD’s, scanners, cameras, etc.
- Perform basic electrical maintenance associated with all aspects of automation as well as repairs/replacement of faulty components, using tools such as a multi-meter.
- Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of all types of industrial robots, box erectors, lidding machines, etc.
- Assist in controls debug as well as working with Senior Manger of Facilities to determine the root cause of equipment failure.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance team to ensure proper scheduling is in place for adequate coverage as well as following up with the team to ensure all daily tasks are completed.
- Provide coaching to maintenance team members for occurrences and/or any violation of company policy(s).
- Motivate and inspire the Duluth and subcontractor team. Help our subcontractors to be successful and hold them to our standards.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow appropriate safety procedures and use PPE while maintaining equipment (lockout/tag out, etc.) and ensure a safe work environment.
- Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
- Oversee issues with PLC’s and replacing as necessary.
- Use appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals.
- Read and understand basic electrical and electronic schematics
- Timely communication of all concerns and issues with the Facilities Manager
- Tracking of all work performed by keeping detailed records of all work done, parts replaced, etc.
- Tracking of all spare parts to always ensure adequate inventory.
- Provide detailed monthly reporting to include work performed, any preventive maintenance performed, cost associated, parts used, down time, and impact on operations.
- Improve the process with written templates, spreadsheet tools, outstanding lessons learned, etc.
- All job duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma
- Equivalent work experience would be considered
- 3- 5 years of work-related experience managing maintenance activities in an automated facility.
- Skilled in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC troubleshooting and repair.
- Energetic, ambitious, and hard working
- Maintain a Positive, can-do attitude
- Computer literate, experience with MS Office products
- Previous, electrical, conveying, automation, and fulfillment center experience desired
- A solid understanding of application of contemporary industrial control systems a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Extremely well organized and great foresight and planning abilities
- Experience in high-speed fulfillment centers a plus
- Demonstrated skills in customer service.
- Material Handling, or Packaging background required.
- Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance procedures
- Familiar with wiring diagrams and symbols.
- PLC controls and coding experience
- Basic metal fabrication and welding
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output functions
- Basic carpentry and plumbing
- Basic industrial controls

Compensation: $33.00/hour
Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, federal, state and local minimum wage requirements, etc.
