RSI is seeking an individual of integrity who is persistent, loyal, and responsible to serve as Major Donor Representative. This vital role focuses on building and cultivating relationships with our phenomenal donor base, as well as introducing new prospective partners who will join us in achieving God-sized goals. The Major Donor Representative will support the overall success of the development department and concentrate on donor satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term donor loyalty. An ideal candidate will exhibit excellent written and verbal skills, as well as the ability to identify and pursue opportunities on behalf of our ministry. ***This is a remote position focusing on the areas in and around Oklahoma City, OK, and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. However, trips to the Oklahoma City, OK office will be required as needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Job Summary:

Responsible for all donor solicitation activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned area. Works within the Development Department team for the achievement of donor satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term donor loyalty goals in line with ministry and department vision and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate the story of and advocate on behalf of the ministry to donors and potential donors.
  • Call on major donors, asking for gifts, increasing their level of giving, and finding new major donors.
  • Have in depth knowledge of the ministry’s vision, history, accomplishments, and methodology and to be able to share each when required.
  • Develop an annual solicitation plan in conjunction with the Vice-President of Development which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting or exceeding agreed upon donation goals.
  • Establish and manage relationships with high-level donor prospects, including existing and potential donors. This includes reaching agreed upon solicitation goals.
  • Maximize all opportunities to advocate on behalf of the ministry and tell the story of what God is doing through it.
  • Maximize all opportunities to express gratefulness to those who donate to the ministry.
  • Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone calls, face to face meetings, and networking.
  • Assist in the implementation of the ministry’s development plan as needed.
  • Identify the needs of our donors and actively look for ways to serve them.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contacts and expenditures.

  • Communicate effectively with donors.
  • Perceive the needs of our donors and implement a plan to meet them.

Qualifications:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A commitment to the mission, strategy, and values of RSI.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A willingness to travel.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in sales or the non-profit development field preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other degree field, relevant to the job as determined by the Vice-President of Development and CEO, preferred.
