Manager of Quality Improvement FT - Dedham, MA (Hybrid Position)
Job Summary
The Manager of Quality Improvement is responsible for developing and administering the Walden Behavioral Care quality improvement program in accordance with Joint Commission, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Hours/Shift: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead Joint Commission, Department of Mental Health, and other licensing survey preparedness efforts.
- Chair of the Quality Council. Organize and promote quality improvement efforts at all Walden locations. Enable Walden to fulfill its responsibilities to patients and staff through continuous and systematic measurement, assessment and improvement of its systems and processes. Develop and execute a Quality Improvement Program to provide the data, structure and organizational resources that is required.
- Create process improvement strategies and lead multi-disciplinary teams to enhance patient safety, high quality clinical care, and effective leadership/administration. Share findings with appropriate personnel within the organization. Develop corrective action plans and assure achievement of defined goals.
- Act as the liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system and regulatory compliance, including incident reporting requirements to regulatory bodies. Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Develop, implement, and monitor plans to translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth.
- Assume the role as Human Rights Officer of the Dedham campus. Actively participate in Walden’s strategic plan for the prevention and minimization of restraints and seclusion. Regularly meet with patients to assist, advocate for, and educate them of their patient rights and how to exercise them and respond to patient complaints. Responsible for informing, training and assisting patients in the exercise of their rights and to assist patients in obtaining legal information, advice and representation through appropriate means, including referral to attorneys or legal advocates when appropriate.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree in a related field preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting; preferably in a behavioral helath and/or inpatient psychiatric setting.
- Experience with Joint Commission is required.
Licensure/Certification:
- CPR certification, required (provided upon hire as needed)

- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently.
- Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborate, team environment.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Supervision Received:
- Reports to Assistant Vice President of Hospital Operations and Quality Management
