MANAGER OF SECURITY & SAFETY

12-month position

Reports to the Director of Facilities

Job Overview: This position is responsible for providing security and protection to all Windermere Preparatory School students, faculty, staff and property. The Manager of Safety and Security will also be responsible for developing programs and provide services which promote a safe environment for all WPS students and faculty and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure environment for students and faculty/staff.
• Advises and updates the WPS upper management team on security, safety and risk management issues.
• Creates and provides security and safety awareness training programs for WPS employees.
• Conducts constant assessment of school facilities, grounds and boarding facilities to determine safety & security issues.
• Participates in the development and updating of crisis and emergency response plans and manuals.
• Supervises and manages contracted security personnel working on campus.
• Supervises and manages Law Enforcement School Resource Officers working on campus.
• Manages and maintains campus Visitor Management System.
• Manages, maintains and inputs events, accidents and audits in the NAE Sphera system.
• Supervise, manages and approves all NAE Educational visits
• Facilitates external bus company logistics.
• Responsible for security of all school events during and after normal school hours.
• Coordinates student drop off/ pick up of vehicular traffic on campus.
• Conducts training for school personnel on traffic procedures.
• Analyze reports of school crime. Identifies potential weakness or vulnerabilities requiring mitigation or enhanced safety measures.
• Conducts investigations and practices the highest level of confidentiality.
• Establishes relationships with local law enforcement to enable support for routine and crisis events.
• Stays current on all Nord Anglia safety and security policies.
  
• Serves as the NAE Health & Safety Coordinator H&S Manager, which helps embed the NAE Health & Safety strategy.
• Stays current on industry technologies, trends and strategies; proposes solutions and serves as a trusted expert.
• Attends school meetings and various other community meetings as required.
• Coordinates emergency drills and analyzes results for process and improvements.
• Excellent Communication and judgment skills.
• Other responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:\

• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Minimum 3 yrs. experience in Security Management or Project Manager
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Excellent team building and leadership skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite platform preferred
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and abstract reasoning skills
