Description of Job:
The Quality Compliance (QC) Manager will support the quality functions of Mycorrhizal Applications LLC (MA) focusing on product quality compliance. This role’s primary function will be responsible for conducting quality inspections on products and ingredients used by, and manufactured at Mycorrhizal Applications, LLC. The QC Manager interacts with various leaders across multiple MA departments, and also interacts with other Valent Group Company teams and employees/leaders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial QC program for Mycorrhizal Application products and product ingredients to meet the required Regulatory Compliance.
- Manages a QC Technician position (individual contributor) and encourages their development. Supervision of daily activities of QC technical support personnel.
- Manages lab testing through third party laboratories and affiliates with respect to the QC program and ensures timely and accurate execution of product quality measurements.
- Leads and supports the review of new formulations and new materials used in the manufacturing of MA products.
- Interacts with company Research Teams (across Valent BioSciences) to prepare and conduct QC related experiments. This includes lab bioassay, and efficacy studies, either performed internally or through a third-party lab.
- Collaborates with the Regulatory Team, overseeing company corrective/preventative action (CAPA), product and ingredient audits, and product compliance. Responds timely and in a proactive manner to related requests from the Regulatory team.
- Manages company technical databases such as SAP, BIOVIA Electronic Lab Notebook, and Vector EHS for CAPA as the leader of and subject matter expert for the QC program.
- Lead and develop QC program reviews for analytical methods and method validation.
- Develop and implement Standard Operational Procedures and trainings for QC team.
Education:
Bachelor of Science preferred in Biology, Chemistry, Mycology, Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field with between 5 – 8 years of relevant work experience. Prefer
2+ years people management/supervision experience as well.
