Job Details:

Summary: As part of Corporate Accounting this position will serve as project lead on various U.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting issues by timely researching complex transactions and new accounting guidance independently, assessing implications, documenting conclusions, communicating with the impacted businesses and corporate departments, training, and or managing an implementation plan. Routinely provide technical accounting guidance in various areas such as: contracts, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, VIE assessments, impairment analysis, acquisitions, divestitures, and overall application of new and existing accounting standards. Work proactively with technical team, larger corporate accounting organization, and external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and being a champion of Tyson's mission core values and team behaviors the 5 C's are critical to this role.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job; Accounting or Finance degree preferred

Experience: 5 plus years of related experience preferred

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of SAP and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint preferred

Communication Skills: Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills

Special skills: Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required. Excellent technical accounting knowledge and ability to research complex GAAP accounting standards and document conclusions. Strong team-oriented skills as well as a high level of self-motivation in working independently. Ability to work with a diverse group of people across various levels, functions, and locations. Track record for exceeding multiple goals on various short-term projects simultaneously.

Supervisory: Currently n o direct reports but must work in a TEAM with a wide variety of groups to accomplish responsibilities.

Travel: 1 to 4 domestic trips a year
