Job Overview
Georgetown’s
Global Health Institute (GHI)
serves as the hub of a university-wide network of independent centers committed to the improvement of health outcomes for all people and communities, with a special focus on the most vulnerable; to the support of faculty research and international engagement; and to the education of a new generation of health leaders with a global vision. A central component of the institute’s work is supporting research and scholarship internal to the university, and programs conducted in partnership with academic and non-academic agencies and organizations around the globe.
Job Overview
The Managing Director supports GHI’s continuing expansion in both size and complexity, including not only the activities of those affiliated faculty and centers, but also both on- and off-campus partners.
Reporting to the Institute’s Director, the Manager is the senior full-time academic administrative appointee who oversees operations of this dynamic and growing institute and is responsible for independent development and coordination of all aspects of institute operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 8 or more years of experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience
- Expertise in issues related to global health, and/or fundraising and philanthropic development
- Leadership and project management skills sufficient to coordinate multiple ongoing projects
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility, along with experience in planning and problem solving sufficient to solve complex issues within a multi-layered organization
- Demonstrated technical skills, including the ability to learn and employ web-content management systems and databases and/or the ability to work effectively with a diverse array of individuals
Preferred qualification
Experience with business development
or experience with funding of diverse initiatives
