  • Repair and maintain process equipment and facilities in a GMP regulated clean room manufacturing setting.
  • Learn and work on a wide variety of biopharmaceutical process systems, lab analytical instruments, and facility equipment: mammalian cell culture single use bag reactors, stainless steel microbial fermenters and vessel/piping systems, incubators, centrifuges, downstream protein purification/filtration systems, equipment washers, autoclaves, batcher heat exchangers, CIP systems, cold rooms, freezers, and liquid nitrogen freezers.
  • Troubleshoot instruments and controls for flow, temperature, pressure, optical, mass, pH, level, conductivity, weight, speed, and time.
  • Mechanical work on piping systems, vessels, pumps, agitators
  • Electrical work on automatic/pneumatic controls, solid state electronics, distributed control systems (DCS), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Problem solve, test, repair, and document activities as part of corrective maintenance activities.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PMs), which may be both mechanical and electrical in nature, to ensure that all equipment and facilities are cGMP compliant, documented, and are running safely.
  • Operate both independently and part of multi-disciplined teams. Work with equipment manufacturer representatives as well as internal partners such as HVAC, calibration, electricians, piping, and testing techs.
  • Work mainly 1st shift with intermittent 2nd shift and occasional weekend coverage. Also, occasional off hour on call support for troubleshooting of process equipment and utilities alarms.

Work history requirements:

  • 1-3+ years’ experience as a technician in a manufacturing facility (preferably in pharmaceutical) or the military.
  • Education requirements: combination or any of the following will be considered: technical or engineering degree, military training, vocational trade school.
  • Possesses the formal training and hands on skills for working on electrical, controls, instrumentation, computer automated, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read procedures, work instructions, schematics, drawings, technical manuals and then perform necessary operations for equipment installation or repair.
  • Familiar with OSHA safety standards and ability to learn and execute Safe Work Permits (PTW), Lock-out-Tag-out (LOTO), Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP), and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) practices.
  • Capability to learn new computer skills and current working knowledge in software applications such as Excel and Word.

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
