Main Responsibilities / Activities
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, monitor and maintain manufacturing processes. Consult with design engineers in order to achieve the most efficient and cost effective way of producing the highest quality product possible.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with Engineering, Machining, Assembly, and Service to produce cost estimates for new designs.
- Assign routings, raw material, and estimate costs for all parts and assemblies using best method.
- Create flat pattern layouts and Sigma Nest files.
- Educate Engineering on cost saving design standards.
- Work with Machining and Assembly on development of standards and best methods.
- Investigate problems affecting production and deal with them in a systematic manner.
- Perform variance analysis on actual compared to estimate (current).
Basic Requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent math skills.
- Good communication/listening skills.
- BS Degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of engineering design techniques and standards.
- Knowledge of machining, fabrication and assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of cutting tool and fixturing techniques.
- Must be able to read and create drawings to standard.
- Knowledge of design-to-cost and Lean Mfg. techniques are a plus.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Physical Demands:
- Lift weight up to 25 pounds
- Some walking and standing required.
Work Environment:
- Safety glasses and steel-toed shoes are required.
- Some exposures to dust, dirt, noise, and smoke.
