Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Department: Facilities
Accountability: This position reports to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: $75K - $90K
Responsibilities:
- Define/Identify production bottlenecks, manufacturability improvements, quality concerns, and safety issues by utilizing production evaluation techniques such as value stream mapping, DFMEA, PFMEA, time studies, etc
- Measures process data through Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP in conjunction with time studies, prototype builds, and production observation to baseline current state production processes
- Analyze measured data for trends and correlations to drive improvement initiatives, justify capital expenditures, and both verify and validate implemented process improvements.
- Improve Havis processes throughout the full value stream of the product life cycle. Propose innovative solutions to difficulty problems justified by sound engineering and economic principles
- Control production by thoroughly documenting standard processes, driving 5S “Kaizen” initiatives, designing ‘poke-yoke’ fixturing, training employees on “Good Manufacturing Practices”, and developing control plans in conjunction with Quality Assurance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred; Mechanical or Electrical may be considered
- The ideal candidate must have experience successfully managing multiple budgeted projects, lean continuous improvement experience, and well versed in Good Manufacturing Principles
- Minimum 4 years in an industrial fabrication environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, in particular, sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, and injection molding
- Proficiency with Lean 6 sigma tools and data analytics techniques
- Prior experience leveraging an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word & Excel
- Working knowledge of Solidworks; Sketchup experience a plus
- Automation control systems experience a plus
- Travel less than 10%
