The Utility Tech will contribute to different departments day to day as needed to ensure production goals are met. The Utility Tech will be cross trained to perform various tasks and be a specialist of many machines and processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one-year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment and machine operation
• Willing to learn and exhibit flexibility with a variety of manufacturing work tasks
• Positive team player
• Good organizational and decision-making skills
• Attention to detail

Essential Duties:

· Contributes to different departments day to day as needed

· Cross train to perform various tasks in machine operation, assembly, and mfg. processes

· Responsible for keeping work area clean, safe, and organized in alignment with Company standards

· Responsible for complete work orders executed per schedule and in sequence

· Responsible for leading by example when it comes to attendance, complies with PPE requirements, and drives overall compliance with standard work operations

· Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Must have basic ability for reading and writing, perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape.

· Must exhibit a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and problem solving.

· Must perform machine adjustments and change over

· Must be able to distinguish various wood species

Education and/or Experience

· Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Work experience is accepted in lieu of education

· Machine operation experience is preferred

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

· Wood products manufacturing environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
