GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing effective marketing strategies, campaign development, analyzing the effectiveness of each campaign & developing potential markets. The successful candidate will play an integral role in building & engaging the Loveland Water and Power customer base & creating effective strategies to promote the long-term growth of our utility. The Marketing Specialist works with the Senior Marketing Coordinator and marketing team to provide strategy, execution & reporting for marketing initiatives in order to attract & retain broadband utility customers. The Marketing Specialist designs and hosts public events, creates innovative, attractive marketing collateral and supports utility marketing campaigns. This position is also responsible for identifying customers & services, developing relationships, & facilitating customer engagement.
The salary range is $53,300.00- $82,700.00 per year, hiring range $53,300.00 - $68,000.00 depending on qualifications and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and executes marketing initiatives to appeal to target audience using appropriate channels such as email, social media and traditional media.
- Develops, implements and maintains Loveland Water and Power's strategic marketing plan.
- Gathers and analyzes information on customer needs and preferences.
- Analyzes data to determine campaign efficiency and assess the ROI on various marketing strategies.
- Develops and communicates marketing plans, campaign results and prepares project recommendations to senior management team.
- Develops and maintains strong network with regional media outlets through frequent interaction and promotional requests.
- Coordinates effective distribution of marketing materials.
- Composes and proofreads copy.
- Develops and manages the production of promotional material.
- Plans and coordinates customer events including coordination with event hosts and vendors, booth presentation, giveaways, collateral and customer interaction.
- Attends meetings in various locations within the demographic area
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Researches and produces reports analyzing trends and offering insight in an area of specialization.
- Responsible for supporting the maintenance of the department's online presence via website.
- Oversees and manages production of print media and other promotional pieces
- Monitors brand performance.
- Elevates the organization’s awareness of marketing activities through internal city marketing.
- Prepares and submits cost estimates for inclusion in the annual budget for marketing and promotion of Loveland Water and Power.
- Responsible for providing support in the coordination of related activities to drive customer satisfaction and meet customer objectives.
- Manages all aspects of the creative process ensuring that messaging and branding elements are fully integrated across all communication channels.
- Represents the City in interdepartmental, interagency, community and professional meetings as required.
- Completes special projects, serves on committees.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and phone skills.
- Experience with planning events.
- Knowledge of website and social analytics tools.
- Creative and innovative thinker, tech-savvy with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, HTML, content management systems, and any software commonly used for creating marketing material and social content.
- Must possess sound decision-making skills, sound knowledge of products, and the ability to understand the design and development of product marketing
- Knowledge of competitive offerings to Pulse products and services.
- Experience using a variation of popular social media platforms
- Direct mail expertise
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, other City departments, and members of the community

Education and/or experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Business, News Media, Public Relations or a related field. Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible, professional experience in a marketing role with emphasis in customer service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure and/or certifications:
Valid Driver’s license.
Material and equipment directly used:
Standard office equipment including, but not limited to, personal computer, camera, and associated hardware and standard and industry software, telephone, cellular phone, copier, calculator, and printer.
Working conditions and physical requirements:
Work hours may vary to occasional weekends or evenings attending special events and/or meetings Work is performed in an office environment, but can involve field work. May require reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting for extended periods of time, and repetitive keyboard motion. Light physical effort required by moving and positioning objects up to twenty (20) pounds occasionally and/or up to ten (10) pounds frequently. Some travel required.
