The Social Worker, working within a bio-psychosocial model, provides the following clinical services functions: psycho-social assessments, basic consultation, information on mental health issues, psycho-education, complete specialized clinical services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short term supportive family and individual therapy, group therapy, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) evaluations, and discharge planning. The Clinical Therapist uses evidence based practices in assisting patients achieve their optimal level of mental and emotional health.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Mental Health or clinical related behavioral health field and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Associate Certification such as Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Active Chemical Dependency Professional/Trainee license is also encouraged.

Experience Preferred (not required): Minimum of one-year experience working as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Associate and/or Chemical Dependency Professional/Trainee in a DOH certified agency. Prior experience in dealing effectively with courts, probation departments, and other agencies and referral sources.

Preferred three (3) years, post-Masters experience in a psychiatric health care setting. Direct experience in individual and family group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment planning is preferred. Strong clinical assessment skills, preferred.
