The Youth Action Project is seeking a MATH Paraprofessional to work at Innovations Middle Charter School. Paraprofessionals are vital to keeping a school moving forward and reaching their goals of providing high quality education.

Essential Job Duties:
- Be a flexible team player at the assigned school.
- Tutor one on one, small groups, and/or monitor classroom under the guidance of a Certified Teacher.
- Lead and/or assist a classroom, plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
- Work the front desk, assist with arrival, lunch and dismissal as needed.
- Complete any necessary paperwork for the assigned school.
- Enforce the students' school wide and classroom expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledges, Skill, Ability Requirement
- Knowledge of and ability to work in a technology rich environment
- Knowledge of and ability to deal with middle school at risk learners
- Skilled in the use of productivity software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Skilled in interpersonal communication
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents and the public
- Ability to perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and Stakeholders
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment
- Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time
- Ability to work flexible hours necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

- Ability to meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district, state
- Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
Working conditions
- Classroom environment
- This position requires work indoors and outdoors, after school and weekends as appropriate
- Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pound boxes of paper and stock items on a regular basis
- Must be able to remain standing for 60% of the time
- Needs to occasionally move about an office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Qualifications
- Some college from an accredited institution
- 1 Year working with at risk youth or in an educational setting
- Must have reliable transportation
- Bilingual preferred
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
- Must pass OCPS background check
