Middle School Math Teacher
Location: Sierra Vista
Job Classification: Exempt
Position Type: This is a full time, 10-month position. Monday through Friday. Hours will be determined by the supervisor.
We are seeking a full-time Middle School Math Teacher to join our CAS-Sierra Vista team.
As the Middle School Math Teacher, you’ll be responsible for delivering lesson plans that develop students’ theoretical and applied mathematical skills along with assigning homework, grading assignments, quizzes and documenting students’ progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education with a specialization in Mathematics, or Equivalent
- Must be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Fluent in English; written and oral communication.
Essential Job Duties:
- Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate student’s understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Prepares, administers and grades tests/assignments to evaluate students’ progress.
- Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- Administers standardized achievement tests.
- Maintains accurate and complete student records.
- Confers with parents or guardians to discuss their child’s progress.
- Meets with other professionals to discuss individual student’s needs and progress.
- Possess strong written and oral communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Commits to ongoing professional growth, as provided by CAS and/or outside agencies.
- Enforces all administration policies and rules governing students.
- Ensures the safety of all students.
- Other duties as assigned.
