Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Performs, from work orders and instructions, any or all trades to include plumbing, steam fitting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and related maintenance work.
2. Responsible for the operation of high- pressure boiler systems as assigned.
3. Replaces light bulbs, wall receptacles, motor brushes, ballasts and lights, repairs lamps and fixtures.
4. Assist licensed trades to makes repair to nurse-call and paging systems.
5. Assists licensed trades to make repairs and replaces sinks, toilets, baths and showers.
6. Assist licensed trades to make repairs and replaces oxygen, nitrous and suction wall outlets or extends systems.
7. As directed by licensed trades, Resets circuit breakers after restoration of utility company’s power.
8. Assists licensed trades to reset and restore system to normal after a drill or alarm.
9. As directed by licensed trades, maintains all phases of air handling equipment, changes and cleans filters, drive belts, and lubrication.
10. Assists licensed trades to replaces bearings, changes and cleans filters on air compressors and vacuum pumps.
11. As directed by licensed trades, makes minor repairs to air conditioners (McQuay Units) and refrigeration units.
12. As directed by licensed trades, installs tile floors, tile ceilings, paints walls, ceilings and other duties such as paper hanging.
13. As directed by licensed trades, performs general mechanical maintenance and plumbing work to sterilizers and autoclaves.
14. Assists licensed trades to performs some minor remodeling and construction to the physical plant.
15. Conducts Daily Rounds and completes sheets as directed
16. Rotates coverage for weekends, holiday and On-Call
17. Make repairs, adjustments and mounting tasks on patient TV’s

Education/Experience Required:
1. Two years of maintenance or mechanical experience including experience in plumbing, electrical (painting, flooring, drywall and minor carpentry work.
2. Ability to read, write and comprehend English at 12th grade level.
3. High School diploma or GED
Registration/Certification:
1. Able to obtain State “Special to Operate” boiler certification within 6 months of hire
Physical/Environmental Requirements
This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
