Mechanical Design Engineer Job at Terra Drive Systems
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Research, develop, design, test, evaluate products, features and technologies that may compliment current and future system solutions
2. Perform engineering activities that include the following: mechanical design, analysis, hand calculations, tolerance stacks, presenting technical data, authoring technical reports, creating, and reviewing functional and physical interfaces, and generating analysis requirements for components.
3. Support creation of detailed component definition (drawings and/or model based definition) and support manufacturing to produce conforming hardware.
4. Participate in or lead Root Cause and Corrective Action teams, provide input for sub-system and system level risks, and complete risk assessments for owned components.
5. Create component requirements documents for owned hardware and hardware design concepts and perform trade studies to optimize hardware
6. Limited travel to OEM customers and to dealer/distributors to install, test and/or service prototype or production systems/components as required.
Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited Engineering curriculum
· 3+ years design experience in off road and on road vehicles.
· Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent is required
Top Candidates will Also Have:
· Casting design and manufacturing knowledge
· Hydraulic system understanding
· Prior analytical experience with finite element analysis, bolted joint analysis, etc.
· Expertise in design for manufacturing
· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving
· The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions
