OES delivers full-service facility and infrastructure engineering design, environmental science, construction management and transportation engineering.
OES has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced Mechanical Engineer to perform engineering and design services for Mechanical systems on a wide range of projects including commercial buildings, higher education facilities, water and wastewater treatment facilities, military base facilities and infrastructure systems. The position is for our Jacksonville, FL office but will consider Milwaukee or Madison, Wisconsin (Onsite is preferred; remote will be considered).
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, design, specifications, and construction administration of facility mechanical systems.
- Development and application of appropriate industry and departmental design practices.
- Design Management from Project concept stage thru construction. Collaboration with project team members to integrate mechanical system elements with architecture and other engineering systems to complete projects on time and on budget while meeting client’s expectations.
- Training, mentoring, and workload management of junior staff.
- Travel within and outside the continental United States with a team of engineers and technicians to attend meetings and perform field work supporting worldwide Department of Defense installations.
- Collect, gather, and interpret field data.
- Development of all aspects of construction plans.
- Preparation of documents such as project specifications, design reports, alternatives analyses, agency coordination, and cost estimates.
- Assist project managers to ensure that project deliverables and budgets are met.
- Attend and participate in meetings with clients and the general public.
- Collaboration with project team members to integrate mechanical system elements with architecture and other engineering systems to complete projects on time and on budget while meeting client’s expectations.
- Work in both office and field environments.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 7+ plus years of building/construction industry mechanical system design experience from concept stage thru construction.
- Strong design background and understanding of systems and applications in buildings and facilities, including coordination with other disciplines.
- Strong design management experience.
- Strong communication skills both internally and externally for effective team/project management with a focus on Client's expectations.
- Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
