We are seeking a Mechanical Static Reliability Engineer to join our Field Services team. In this position you will report into the Manager of Field Services with Eichleay and based in Blaine, WA. The Static Relibility Engineer position serves as a member of the Maintenance Team and supports the delivery of cost-effective, safe, environmentally sound, and reliable unit operations. The position utilizes leading edge technologies in the monitoring, evaluation, maintenance, repair, selection, and upgrading of equipment to maximize unit availability and performance. The position will work with other engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel, as well as industry experts, in both project and day-to-day support roles.

Compensation range: $120,000-$145,000

Looking for a new a position as a Mechanical Static Reliability Engineer? Are you passionate about developing and implementing fully detailed maintenance and reliability strategy to meet business needs? Do you have experience with creating equipment reliability strategies? As a Mechanical Static Reliability Engineer at Eichleay, your duties will involve planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating assigned engineering work related to local maintenance activities. This will include working with the Maintenance Engineer as your focal point to ensure that all related deliverables to the project are defined, planned, communicated and executed such that the commissioning and startup efforts are successful. Your success will be demonstrated through reliability and maintenance deliverables being delivered efficiently and effectively, so that project schedule and budgets are favorably impacted.

Additional Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • You will ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants in a collaborative and productive manner and the requirements of the project are being satisfied.
  • Your technical knowledge and awareness of details from a reliability and maintenance perspective allow you to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions. This includes the ability to verify proper equipment is installed correctly, including mechanical , piping, instrumentation and electrical.
  • You are able to develop and implement appropriate equipment protection plans and associated preventative maintenance for stored project equipment if not in place or completed.
  • You are able to effectively assist with communications and consult with site maintenance and reliability on applicable knowledge and or history for installed equipment.
  • Your ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, vendors, contractors, and all internal team members is critical to the role. This includes working with the Project Maintenance Representative to submit Project Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Your coordination activities include ensuring site involvement in project reviews. This will also include coordinating the inspection/testing process.
  • You may coordinate with regulatory agencies for obtaining permits.
  • You support the use of the Approved Manufacturers and or Suppliers List.
  • Ability to identify critical insurance spares and repair parts needed in support of the defined equipment strategies.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 2+ years of plant maintenance, reliability, or relevant engineering experience required.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with refinery process equipment (exchangers, piping and pressure vessels, heaters, tanks, etc) is required.
  • Must have strong computer skills including: MS Software and ability to utilize spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with technical, management, craft and operators are required.
  • Currently holds a TWIC or eligible for TWIC.

Preferred Requirements/Skills:

  • Turnaround maintenance experience
  • API 510/570 exposure and experience.
  • Performs API Level 1 or 2 fitness for service evaluations.
  • Ability to model equipment and perform Finite Element Analysis Calculations per Section VIII Div 2.
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Capable of performing pipe stress calculations/evaluations.

  • Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to visit a Client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • May be assigned to work at a Client’s office, facility or site for an extended period of time. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply. When performing work outside Eichleay’ s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Eichleay and/or Client as required.
