Holly Springs Pediatrics is a small and busy medical office with three providers. We have been located is the Holly Springs area for over 15 years. We are a growing practice that needs extra clinical support.
Position Summary
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Essential Functions
- Welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit
- Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room
- Perform preliminary physical tests; take blood pressure, weight, height, and temperature; report patient history summary
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider
- Collecting and preparing lab specimens
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant in a primary care setting
- AHA BLS Certification required upon hire.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- High school graduate or equivalent required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
Working Conditions
- Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Physical demands include periods of sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Use of the telephone, computer and other related instruments or devices while communicating with patients, caregivers, physicians, and staff. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay:
- $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
