Medical Assistant/Patient Access Specialist – Part-Time
Foot & Ankle Centers – Yorkville and Morris, IL
Responsibilities
- As a key member of the patient care team you will support the physicians and/or physical therapists in the delivery of high-quality health care to provide vital and effective operations of a fast-paced medical practice
- Promptly responds to patient questions
- Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
- Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims
- Notifying providers of patient arrivals
- Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- As a Medical Assistant, you will learn ways to adapt to care and adjust to different treatment plans for patients’ evolving needs.
- Manage patient flow and perform patient rooming workflows
- Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
- Ensuring the availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records
- As an advocate for each patient, you will be completing direct patient care, accurately identifying each patient through the use of two patient ID methods, and using your best judgment to determine patient needs.
- Assist with treatments ordered by provider. Perform select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measures vital signs, and record information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders.
- Performs office cleaning daily, weekly, quarterly and maintains an orderly environment.
- Clean, prepare and autoclave instruments in preparation for sterilization per infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
- OSHA compliance
- Adhere to high standards of customer service.
- Strive to set an example to peers and coworkers and foster a team environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer service or medical office experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer data-entry
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (Hours vary from 7:30 am - 6:30 pm)
- Job Type: Part-Time (21-31 hours, 3-4 days/week)
- Sign on Bonus $600*
