We are looking for a Billing and Collections Specialist to assist the Billing Department in posting payments, billing, collections and keeping the healthy flow of the facility with our Administrators. 2-5 years experience is required.

Essential Job Functions for the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist:

• Is a self-starter and projects a positive image of Empower Physical Therapy in all interactions verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Run various reports to work on pending and aged claims. Metrics apply
• Claim appeals, corrections and resubmitting, following up in denials.
• Patient Billing/Collections to include patient questions and refunds.
• Answering questions from all staff about billing and health insurance questions as appropriate
• Answers phones and checks messages as needed.
• Running daily reports to check for claim denials and make corrections and or have staff make corrections to resubmit for payment.
• Running weekly and monthly reports for OTC and Insurance AR.
• Posting Insurance AR- Average expected of $5,000.00 per hour of payment posting.
• Know the essential job responsibilities of all clerical staff and be able to assist them including batch payments, scanning and attaching documents.
• Assists in front office coverage as needed.
• Works with RRCM on insurance patterns and communicate this to staff.
• Assists with other tasks as needed to include cross training in other departments.

Minimum Requirements for the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist:

• Education: High School graduate, some college in the files is preferred
• Experience: 2-5 years Experience/expertise in AR Billing and Collections
• Skills: On the job training
