Medical Director, Clinical Chemistry and Point of Care Services Job at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center seeks a full-time Medical Director for Clinical Chemistry and Point of Care Services serving BIDMC-Boston and its offsite laboratories. BIDMC is a 780-bed tertiary care facility within the Beth Israel Lahey Health Network and is a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is actively engaged in fulfilling the tripartite mission of extraordinary patient care, world class education and cutting-edge research. It is recognized for outstanding residency training programs in anatomic and clinical pathology and exceptional basic and translational research programs. Eligible candidates for this position must have an MD (with AP/CP or CP board certification) and experience in clinical chemistry and point of care. The successful candidate will serve as CLIA license holder for point of care services and oversee medical management of a comprehensive point of care program that supports active clinical programs in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, trauma, solid organ transplant, nephrology and obstetrics.
In addition to clinical and administrative service responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in our pathology training programs and to develop a strong program in basic, applied, or translational research. The position includes a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School commensurate with experience.
