The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, located in Waterbury, CT, ilocated midway between New York City and Boston, is seeking a full-time Medical Physicist to support all aspects of clinical physics in its radiation therapy department.
The HLRCC is a freestanding ACR-accredited cancer center treating an average of 45 patients a day on two Elekta Agility linacs. A wide range of treatment modalities is offered including 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, etc.
Department equipment includes MOSAIQ R&V, Toshiba Aquillion Large-Bore CT simulator with 4DCT, GE Discovery MI DR PETCT scanner, transitioning between Pinnacle TPS to Raystation, MIM Maestro. There is also a full complement of physics equipment.
Primary responsibilities will include machine calibration, QA, chart checks, SBRT treatment planning, radiation safety, and the development and implementation of new procedures and technology.
The ideal applicant will be board-certified with clinical experience. Graduates of a CAMPEP-approved residency program pursuing board-certification will also be considered. Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, are a must.
This position offers a flexible schedule and the option of working a mixture of both on-site and remotely.
The successful applicant will be part of a team of two Physicists, two Dosimetrists, and three Physicians.
