Medical Physicist Job at Warren General Hospital
Warren General Hospital’s Cancer Care Center has an opportunity for a full-time medical physicist to join our dedicated team. WGH is an independent, community-focused rural hospital located Warren, Pennsylvania; nestled in the Allegheny Mountains and on the banks of the Allegheny River.
Roles & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
· Regular quality assurance testing of radiotherapy equipment and treatment delivery process following national standards set by AAPM
· Annual testing and calibration quality assurance of Versa HD Linear Accelerator following national standard set by AAPM
· Dosimetric calibration of radiation therapy equipment
· Maintain compliance with radiation safety and licensing regulations
· Provide routine clinical support
· Implementation of 4d – CT and gated radiation therapy
· 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and SRS treatment planning oversight, quality assurance checks and treatment delivery
· Acts as facility’s radiation safety officer
· Formulate and maintain policies and procedures regarding safety and quality insurance for radiation producing equipment, quality insurance, treatment planning, surface guidance equipment and imaging modules
· Maintain proper documentation for charge capture of physics services
· Review and checks after all service by Elekta service engineer
· Quality assurance testing of the CT scanner
· Preparation and submission of all documentation to the state for their biennial inspection
· Review of dosimetric records for RO staff
About WGH Cancer Care Center:
The department of radiation therapy at WGH Cancer Care Center is equipped with an Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator, a Siemen’s large bore CT simulator, Mosaiq EMR, Monaco treatment planning system, and MIM deformable registration planning computer. We also use Align RT for surface guided treatment delivery and set up, as well as respiratory gating. We have a full suite of quality assurance equipment including SRS/SBRT Mapcheck, StereoPhan, and IC Profiler.
We are able to offer state of the art SBRT and SRS treatments.
Requirements:
· Masters or PhD in Medical Physics
· Must have active board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics and abide by the certifying body’s requirements for continuing education
· Preferred experience with Elekta linear accelerators, Mosaiq EMR, Monaco TPS, MIM deformable registration, and Align RT surface guidance system.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
