Hours: 32-40 hrs/week
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. New hires will be compensated for orientation and training.
Boston ENT Associates is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Needham Hospital and offices are located in Needham, West Roxbury and Natick. Flexibility to work in all 3 offices and reliable transportation will be required. This postion may be temporary or permanent, depending on the needs of the candidate. The position is suitable for candidates who plan to pursue a career in health care or health care management. Successful candidates should be able to work independently, be professional, motivated, and passionate about patient care.
The medical scribe will accompany the provider during patient exams, and assist with history taking, scribing physical examination and clinical plan.
Additional tasks would be:
- Greet and check-in patients that arrive at the clinic and direct them appropriately
- Monitor patient flow
- Supervise medication refills
- Label specimens, facilitate laboratory specimen tracking.
- Schedule patient appointments
- Answer phones and clinically triage calls based on relevance
Proficiency Requirements:
- Knowledge of MS office and proficiency in typing
- Good communications skills, oral and written
- Attentive to details and organized
Previous training in medical terminology and medical office procedures is desired but not required. Training on the AthenaHealth EHR will be provided.
