QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum six (6) months of a medical group or healthcare back-office work experience or applicable healthcare work experience is required.
- Experience in orthopedics is preferred.
- Must be able to type 60+ WPM
- Knowledge of the health care field and orthopedics preferred.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures concerning patient care in the clinics.
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality, state laws, HIPAA regulations, and medical records procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurate, timely charting of patient encounters, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions, and prescriptions.
- Professional, non-intrusive interaction with patients (the Scribe does not directly assist with patient care), physicians, and other co-workers.
- Assist with all aspects of patient coordination of care as deemed necessary.
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to training other Scribes and staff.
- Compliance with HOPCo policies, including those relating to the confidentiality of patient information.
The Medical Scribe PRN is responsible for scheduling and authorizing procedures that will be performed within the clinic setting
