General Duties:

  • Makes medical appointments for residents
  • Arranges and/or provides transportation to medical appointments for residents
  • Upon returning from a medical appointment, checks to see if the resident has a medication order, new medication, or a future appointment
  • Ensures that medications are ordered, documented on the medication administration form, or discharged as ordered
  • Checks medication and medical supplies twice a week to ensure that a five day supply of medications are on hand and that medical supplies are in sufficient quantity to support the medication program
  • Files resident medical records in accordance with Agency policy
  • Will be required to perform Direct Care duties as well

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma preferred

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures of OPWDD, as well as all state and federal regulations as they apply to the care and treatment of the individuals

Knowledge of active treatment programs as they relate to the individual

  • Currently AMAP certified
  • Currently SCIP certified or able to become certified within six months of hire
  • Currently CPR and First Aid certified
  • Must be a driver and hold a current and clean New York State driver’s license

Must Be Fully Vaccinated (COVID-19)
