Medical Technician Job at Pennington County, SD
The Pennington County Jail has an excellent part-time opportunity for a Medical Technician. As a part of a larger medical team, the Medical Technician administers, documents and maintains medication inventory while observing and maintaining the requirements of security within the Pennington County Jail. Medical team members provide inmate services in an orderly, respectful, and disciplined manner, consistent with the professionalism expected of all Sheriff’s Office employees.
Medication Administration and security training are provided.
Medical Techs will be responsible for:
Administering medications and documenting to facility specifications- Alerting medical staff of potential medical emergency situations
- Ensuring medications are properly stored, ordered and available for nursing staff
- Restocking medical carts
- Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
- Complying with all applicable work rules and policies
Education: HS Diploma or GED
Certification: none required;
Experience: one year patient care services; preference given to those with healthcare experience
Those selected to receive an offer of employment will undergo a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
